My Baby is Having Surgery

Tomorrow, July 27, 10:00 A.M. Caden will be having surgery on his nose.  He has a growth that is blocking 85% of one side of his nose.  He will have to be put to sleep. This is an outpatient surgery, so even though it's not major...anything with regards to your baby...is a BIG DEAL. 

It makes this momma nervous. 

Prayers will be appreciated!

Philippians 4:6- "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God."

Update:  Day 4, Caden's surgery went very well.  The Dr. said, we did the right thing.  When he got in there there was 75% blockage with pus all over his anoids.  He bounced back pretty quick; however, he has complained of a sore throat, which is understandable. 

Psalm 23...By the Boys

I believe hiding God's word in our hearts is a valuable tool for ourselves, but also a gift to give to our children. Why should we hide God's word into our hearts? Psalm 119:11 says, "I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you."

I have found that kids tend to memorize things easier than adults at times. The boys have memorized various verses through Sunday school, Upward Basketball, and at home. The first verse I recorded from home was The Lord's Prayer. The next big verse is Psalm 23. I shared not too long ago one way I help my boys memorize scripture, in the car.






Over a month later after studying and memorizing this particular Psalm, the boys still know it and want to share it with you. Caden's video would not load, so I will be sharing that hopefully next Sunday. Even though it is showing black for some reason, it still works.

What a Man, What a Man, What a Really Good Man!

I have to brag on my DH. He is such a good Dad! Every night he tucks the boys into bed and tells them a bible story and prays with them. I then, come in and kiss the boys goodnight and sing their "special song". Well, my DH was recently away on a school trip for 2 nights...Cameron was wanting Daddy to come home and starting crying. Dad has been gone on an occasional school trip and this has never happened before.

Well, at bedtime Daddy to the rescue...he calls. Not only did he call to talk to the boys but he wanted to tell them their nightly bible story and pray with them. I'm so thankful for a Godly husband that loves his family so much to take the time and be so thoughtful. Since the trip Cameron has expressed that he doesn't get to spend much time with Daddy. Dad has stepped up to the plate and is being intentional about the quality time he spends with the boys. He is even leaving later in the morning to wait until they wake up so he can spend a little time with them in the morning too. I love that my DH has seen Cameron's need and makes his family priority!

MORNING TIME...Rise and Shine give God your glory glory!

ring, ring...."h..e..l..l..o.... Okay honey...I'm getting up"...(still laying in bed).
"Here comes another snicker doodle"..."yep, I sneak...so I am a sneaker doodle" Caden replies.
Y.a.w.n....s....t....r....e...t...c...h

Whistling, be-bopping, loud noises coming from Cameron's room. I knew I failed to get his weekly school clothes in his organizer, so I drag myself out of the bed, and I enter his room. As the noise increases... "Cameron, you must be a morning person. With your energetic mood and all the whistling and noise...pause....Well, guess what? Your mom is still trying to wake up...(a little louder) and I AM NOT a morning person"....pause........ "do you get it??""Stop whistling, stop with all the sounds...let me wake up."

Caden hears mom's a little grouchy, so trying to make things better, he runs as hard as he can and jumps on me..."your good morning hug"..."thank you Caden...next time can it be a little more gentle?" smile...:)

ring, ring,..."hello! Yes, honey I'm up...love you too!"
Checking on the muffins I hear ...whistling again...."Sorry mom it's so hard to stop."

I've had my breakfast, and now I am fully awake...no coffee for me...but awake.
Oh man, do I really want to take the happy morning attitude of my children away?? Do I want them to trade it for mom's attitude? Should Cameron have to apologize for whistling because he is joyful? Shame on me! I pray, some of their "morning person" will wear off on me, not the other way around! Lord, don't change this about them, change me!
