My Charmer

I just LOVE this kid!

Caden has a big personality. He is full of life and fun...he is a character. Caden is affectionate and a love bug. I asked him one day if he will still hug me when he is 16..."of course mom...I just love you so much"! I hope so.

Here is glimpse of his big heart...

February 8th: Caden informed me, "I better listen to my parents because

God is always watching!"

February 15th: Caden came in one morning last week and was cuddling in bed with me. All of a sudden he pipes up and says, "you are a sweet little teapot." Awwww...you melt my heart Caden. Then he says, "I'm not calling you names mom ,like the time I called you a 'candle light', and I got in trouble because you thought I was calling you names." I had to smile. I remember that, but was hoping he did not.

"I just wish I could hug you forever"

March 17: Getting Caden ready for picture day at school. I say, "Caden you look so handsome." He leaves looking at himself in my full length mirror and says, "I DO look handsome" as he skips away, and then said, "I love myself!" Awww!

S-C-H-O-O-L Time

Wow summer really flies when your having fun! I cannot believe yesterday was the official back to school day in our neck of the woods. In reality, it was the first time to go to school for my 'big' boy Caden. Caden was so excited about starting Kindergarten. An example of his excitement happened a few days before school started. Caden was getting a drink at the fridge while I was on the computer. He said, "Mom your gonna miss me in 3 days. Bye mom!" Then he has proceeded to tell me later that I will be lonely. Yesterday after I picked the boys up from school I told the boys I missed them. Caden pipes up and says, "see mom I told you that you would be lonely."
It sure was quiet coming home yesterday! Yes, a teared up on the way home. My baby is in school now! My oldest will start college Monday, and Cameron moved to a new building for 3rd grade! I decided though once I walked through the door, I would take advantage of my day and get a lot accomplished. Oh, and I would for sure enjoy the quiet!

Here is Mr. personality himself before school!

No turning back now! Nervous excitement building...

After our last hug, he just jumped right in and started building "things".

Stop growing up would ya?!

Cameron wouldn't admit he was nervous. My 3rd grader didn't even want mom to walk him in. I couldn't believe it! "It's the first day of school, that is what mom's do." Sigh....Finally after parking at the gym due to all the school traffic he decided he didn't want to get ran over and wanted me to walk him in. His backpack was so heavy I carried it for him. When he got to the door (out of sight of his classmates) he gave me my requested hug and marched right in. I called him to get his backpack, no response. He had tunnel vision and only one goal, to get to his desk. I finally caught up with him after his teacher tried to get his attention too. Hmmm, not nervous at all?

They both said they had a great day. However, it was not MY Caden who made a gun the first day of school out of those Lego type blocks and got a warning. Oh no, of course not!

My boys enjoying their after school snack!

Here's to a great school year!

Funny Friday

This week Funny Friday is provided by the courtesy of my 7 year old...Cameron.

The family comedian

I was helping grandma out by painting a dog/play house in her yard. All the grand kids helped out. Pretty soon all the kids were disappearing, and Cameron decided he was done too. He did a great job as all the kids did. He dropped off his stuff and my sister said. "Hey where are all the kids? I thought you guys were going to paint." Cameron replied, "we all retired."

At dinner tonight we were all sitting around the table. All five of us. I love Thursdays when 'Bubba' comes over. Cameron was eating his shrimp and dad said, "Cam you really like shrimp." "Yeah, I'm a shrimp machine." A few minutes later, Cameron suddenly announces..."I'm
done. The machine... is full!"

A few weeks ago, I was at the computer blogging away when I heard one of the boys come up behind me. I turned around and saw Cameron standing there. I turned back around, and I asked him if he wanted to blog? He then replied,

"Hey mom! I have an idea."

When I turned around
this is what I saw.

Have a great weekend!

SPRING BREAK

This week was spring break for my second grader! Last week was spring break for my DH....see the problem?? The week my husband was off was wonderful because he got a lot of projects around the house done. Thanks honey!! He also got to eat with Cameron at school a couple of days too. I enjoyed having him home! However, I wish their spring breaks were together so we could take a few days and go some where together as a family! Maybe next year! I thought it was so cute when Cameron said, "If this law doesn't pass, (a law trying to make all schools to have spring break the same week) I am going to become President so we can have spring break as a family."

This week Dad is back at work. Cameron got to have a good friend stay over Sunday night and Monday. We enjoyed Evan visiting. They are great friends! I taught Evan in pre-school and have known him since he was a baby. They are great friends of our family!

Evan and Cameron playing games. Ugh excuse the desk...on my list!

Cameron also had another friend stay the night this week. His friend from school...Clint. Clint and Cameron have known each other every since they were little. Clint's mom is one of my great friends. They will have a chance to grow up and graduate together some day. So, I've had a house full of even more testosterone this week!! My DH was kind enough to let me get away for an evening with my friend Jill. We went to the Olive Garden and to a movie. It was a nice treat!

Since the boys have mastered the monkey bars they decide they will jump off the top!

Today, my DH decided he would take 1/2 a day off at school to do something with the family. We decided to go to Terra Studio, the place that makes the famous glass blue birds. We are only about 20 minutes away and I had never been there. It is a neat place. Cameron wants to go back and take a pottery class. I want to go back and have a picnic there. It is such a creative and peaceful place. Loved it! Here are several pictures from Terra Studios:

This is a door inside of the big door. Just their size!

A booth in the coffee house.

On our way to Terra Studios....where the buffalo roam.

Spring Break has ended....and now they are predicting SNOW again! Ugh!

Sundays at Grandmas

Today after church we went to my Mom's house for our weekly Sunday visit. My DH was not feeling well and had his usual Sunday headache. What is up with that? It has been going on for at least a year...every Sunday he gets a headache. I told him I would call Mom and we could just come home after church and let him sleep. He was being very unselfish and said, "no we will go over there because the boys always look forward to it."

I had a good time visiting with my Step-Sister Laurel and her husband and son. I also had fun reminiscing with everyone and talking to my brother. I love when I get to see my brother and my nieces. I don't see them often, but love it when I do!

We were talking about an incident with my sister when she was younger being in a car that started rolling. Cameron comes in the sun room and I ask him, "what should you do if your ever in a car by yourself and it starts rolling?" I remember talking to him about it in the past so I was expecting...push on the brake! Well, he gets a hmmmm look on his face and then says, "BUCKLE UP!"

Kids say the cutest things!

Thanks Mom for having us over on Sundays and always fixing a yummy lunch. We appreciate and love you.

Funny quote of the day!

Cameron was looking at a picture of one of my cousins...uh hmm...
I will not mention names! It was a close up picture and she had a enormous zit on her face. Well, Cameron says, "Man, she has a big ZIP".

Kids Say The Funniest Things!

I love my funny boys! Today I had Caden on my knee bouncing him around and just playing with him because he needed some 'mommy' time. He had suggested it in the morning while I was trying to cheer him up. I was holding him after I patted his bottom for a "love pat" he took it as something else.

We were spinning slowly in the chair as I bounced him with him facing me. Then he said, "your bumps bump like a motor." I started dying laughing.... Was he referring to my size Double .... bumps...with no support on at the time? (Did I just write that?) So, after I got control of myself I asked him what bumps he was referring to..."your knee caps mom". In a tone like...don't you know mom.

Now he is informing me we are going to play a computer game together. "I'll tell you the rules and no fighting or fussing." Wonder where he has heard that before??

Kids are so funny!
