Simple Womans Daybook

~*~ Rhonda's Daybook~*~

Today is... Tuesday, July 27, 2010

Outside my window...it is cloudy with a chance of meatballs. Okay, just cloudy.

I am thinking...I am in a blog rut, and you may be seeing less of me soon. I can't seem to get my summer list, Cameron's birthday, Branson, etc. posted....sigh. Oh, and I really want a new blog design! This hopefully is just temporary.

Maybe I'm just really busy!

I am thankful...that Michael and I are still doing the c25k program (week 4) together along with boys on their bikes. I really didn't want to do it last night, but I did. I'm excited my sister just started last night.

I am wearing...shorts and a t-shirt

I am remembering...all this time I was able to stay home with my boys. I will treasure it for the rest of my life. I feel so grateful.

I am creating
...Lots of lists and bubble wands for our pre-school party.
I am going...through all my old school stuff to see what I can use in the pre-k classroom.

I am reading...not much, but have a list of books I want to read.

I am hoping/praying...
Last week:...for Kayla Dotson and her family. Kayla is 9 years old. I know her through Upward cheerleading. I was her coach for a year. She had heart surgery at 2:00 today with a Berlin heart and is waiting for a heart transplant. Update: She received a heart transplant yesterday and her heart is beating! Please pray for her and the donor family.

I am hearing...my boys watching television and play with walkie talkies. We all have to get on a school schedule soon!

On my mind...is getting/keeping my priorities straight. I know myself well enough to know with this new job, I could pour all of myself into it. However, I cannot neglect my main priorities... like my family. Balance is the key.

From the learning rooms...This is my last week to do pre-school with Landon. Wednesday will be a fun day!

Pondering these words: Titus 2:3-7 "In the same way, older women are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not addicted to much wine. They are to teach what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands and children, to be sensible, pure, good homemakers, and submissive to their husbands, so that God's message will not be slandered. Likewise, encourage the young men to be sensible about everything. Set an example of good works yourself, with integrity and dignity in your teaching."

From the kitchen...

Monday: Chick-Fil-A
Tuesday: Salmon
Wednesday: Grilled turkey/ham sandwiches
Thursday: Mexican casserole
Friday: BBQ Chicken
Saturday: Breakfast for dinner
Sunday: FFY

Around the house...feels cozy when I have my lamps turned on and everything is clean.

One of my favorite things
...being organized

A few plans for the rest of the week
...
  • School shopping for the boys
  • Meet with the principal to order furniture/supplies today
  • Go through all my teaching tubs from my past...which most I will not be able to use.
  • Pre-school with Landon
  • Hair appointment for a highlight on Friday
  • Get the boys hair cut too.
My Word Picture...half of my school stuff that has been stored in our shed for 8 years. I am going through it today! Looks like I have some cleaning up to do too.

I know how crazy it is to have all that you want to do with the students on your mind! So much! Thanks for the bedtime advice. I am afraid she wouldn't have it any other way! As for pouring all of yourself into the job, that is tough not to. I have to cut so many things and just say STOP!!! to myself so many times!

Sounds like you have had a really busy summer! I have been in kind of a blogging rut too, it happens!

It does sound like you have your priorities straight - you are a mom who knows how she wants to raise her family and that is a very good thing!

I always wanted to be a teacher, or a nurse - I'm sure you will be both as a pre-k teacher. good luck!

Blessings and prayers to Kayla.

Hugs,
Barb

Fabulous list.
I feel your pain with the school stuff. Can you believe I got rid of all my stuff. I donated it to Trey's preschool. I hated storing it and I don't know if I will ever get back into teaching.
I know what you are talking about with the blogging rut. It seems if I don't schedule my posts I will never get it blogged about.
I hope you have an amazing Monday!

Hello my friend!

I love having a glimpse into your life. I will be praying for Kayla and the donor family.

Good luck going through all of your school stuff. You are going to be so great!

I know a good blog designer that is really reasonable. Starts at $25 and goes up to $55. She is redoing mine right now. She just got through with Amanda's @ Imperfectly Beautiful if you want to see what she's done :)

Have a great day tomorrow!

XOXO
