I am going to be starting a great meme called My Husband Rocks on Fridays! Katy from The Great Adventure is the one behind this great idea. Be sure and visit her to find out why she was inspired to start this. I just love this mission statement:
"No husband is perfect and it doesn’t really matter. What matters is how I set myself up to think about him. If I focus on his failures, his annoyances, or ways in which I’ve felt hurt by him, then I will interact with him as a hurt and frustrated and disappointed wife. That makes for miserable living for me and my husband and those around us. But if I focus on his strengths, his potential, and the ways in which I feel blessed by him, then I will interact with him as a forgiving, blessed, and contented wife. And there’s no greater need a man has than to feel respected by his wife. If he feels like all he does is hurt, disappoint, and frustrate, then the same atmosphere and the same actions will be perpetuated. But if he feels that his wife can be happy and responsive regardless of his shortcomings, he feels respected and empowered. Then a positive atmosphere is perpetuated and actions, once destructive, can improve in an environment that is rich for
cultivation and growth into deepened respect and intimacy." (from the From*me Tees Mission Reflection)
My first "Michael Rocks"...
The following e-mail was written and sent by Michael on Monday, March 29, 2010 after our wonderful weekend together and our first Great Date. Michael is always calling me during the day or sending e-mails. This week he even left a note on the sandwich he made for my lunch. (He used a sharpie and wrote it on saran wrap.)
The Email:
''I know who you are,
You are the woman who makes my life liveable,
I know what you do,
You make our house a home,
I know what you mean to me,
You are my sun and moon, the rain on my garden and the cool breeze on my hot
face,
I know what you mean to your children,
You are the mother of your sons, the lover of your children and the rock in
their life,
I know what your friends think of you,
You are the laughter of the funny, the joy of the moment and the shoulder to
lean on.
I don't tell you enough how much you mean to me.....mostly because I don't have
the words. How can I say I love you when the word "love" is used to describe a
car or a shirt. The words don't exist to explain how I feel about you. All I
can say is the best proof that my God is a gracious and good God.....is found in
you. I love you. Have a great day."
