Simple Woman's Daybook

~*~ Rhonda's Daybook~*~

Today is... February 16, 2010

Outside my window...the sun is shining, but it is cold! It was 21 degrees when I took the boys to school this morning.

I am thinking...I am ready for Spring. I have loved all the snow, but I'm tired of the cold temperatures.

I am thankful... for our health. I do not ever want to take that for granted.

I am wearing...Red Nike t-shirt, sweat pants, jacket (because the office is cold), and fuzzy slippers.

I am remembering...the assignment in an English Lit class my senior year of high school...memorizing Psalm 23. Now I want my boys to memorize it. God's word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119:105) I want the boys to hide God's word in their hearts.

I am creating... a notebook of photography tips. Cards to help the boys memorize Psalm 23 while in the car.

I am going...to start a new Bible Study tonight with some friends. I am looking forward to it.

I am reading...The Bible in 90 Days.

I am hoping/praying...that Michael's doctor appointment turns out fine. I just heard from him and it did....praise God!

I am hearing...
the washer and dryer going and Casting Crowns- 'Slow Fade' from my blog.

On my mind...is thinking about creating a chore chart and system that works for my family. I still haven't got this done, because I can't make up my mind exactly what I want to do. I need to get it done!

From the learning rooms... Caden is bringing home reading books now for homework. They are too easy for him, but he feels big reading the stories to me. Cameron is striving to pass the 5's multiplication quiz today. I know he will.

Pondering these words... "If you gotta start somewhere why not here? If you gotta start sometime why not now?" (I love this song by Toby Mac)

From the kitchen...hamburger with chips and the awesome cheese dip you can find here. It makes a lot and freezes well. It still tastes great. I will not be making plain rotel dip again.

Around the house...
The clutter is slowly disappearing.

One of my favorite things...when the boys come in and snuggle with me in the mornings. Sweet times.

A few plans for the rest of the week...Upward games...only two left, bible study, church, and subbing.

My Word Picture...

This picture brought tears this past week. Cameron looks so little and I am so glad he has the best friends. The kind of friends my boys have are so important. This was taken in 2008. Cameron has really grown up in the past two years.

Cameron and his good friend Evan.

Warmer weather is on my mind!

The Bible in 90 days sounds quite impressive! And having your boys memorize while in the car also sounds like a great idea. Thanks for sharing your daybook!

Rhonda -

Thanks for visiting my blog and for your kind comments. The picture I posted was actually taken by my husband. He and the kids were down at the beach one morning and a sea turtle nest began to hatch. They just happened to have the camera, so...magic...one of those moments they'll never forget.

Please visit me again sometime!

I love this one!!! The whole thing!!!!

My older 2 kiddos memorized the 23rd Psalm when they were first grade age at 6/7, and still say/sing it aloud a lot. It is the most awesome thing to hear them recite scripture. The Pre-K kiddo's favorite is "All scripture is God breathed..." 2 Tim 3:16

Love it love it love it! have a great weekend!
