Celebrating part 2....Pool Party

After planning a Mad Science party for months it came down to the last few weeks, and we switched to a relaxing swimming party instead. Cameron was thrilled, but still wants a Mad Science party in the future. I love planning parties, but with a lot of things going on in our life I decided to forgo a lot of the ideas I had planned. This was a simple, fun, relaxing birthday! Everyone had a good time.

One of my favorite projects I did for Cameron's party was this sea turtle! He was so fun to make! Everyone loved it!

I made three kinds of cupcakes: carrot cake with cream cheese icing, chocolate with butter cream icing, and white with butter cream icing. They turned out pretty cute, however the heat did affect the icing. (They looked a lot better at home). The white cake was half water and half sand. Well the 'sand' had melted and looked awful by the time I took them out. Luckily I brought extra 'sand' I was going to use around the cupcake stand and had to cover them up quick. They all were made from scratch and tasted really good!!

I also made simple flip flop invitations. The bucket I bought at The Dollar Store and added a chalkboard label on it that said "drinks".

Let the party begin!

Caden coming off the slide! He did so good swimming from the slide to the side in the deep end. Of course daddy was there to help when needed.

A game of water volleyball....

Cameron seeing how it felt to shove cake in his own face! Guess he liked it. The kiddos while eating were listening to the Beach Boys. Oh and I barely missed his friend Tyler singing his heart out. The camera also didn't capture the dance routine Cam and Tyler were doing. Shucks!

Time to open presents!

More fun!

My boy is growing up!

Oh my goodness, Rhonda! Look at you, Miss Creativity!!! I love your turtle!!! Sierra wants to have a Strawberry Shortcake party next month, but I was thinking a beach-themed one sounded like much more fun . . . maybe I can change her mind ;)
