Teacher Appreciation Week, Chalkboard Inspiration, and More!

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week. I am amazed at some ideas I've seen recently. My friend Shawn really outdid herself. She did some amazing things. Check it out...if you missed this year keep these ideas in mind. Or, of course an end of the year gift would be appreciated too. As a former teacher it really touched me. I also found an incredible idea from Everything Pink. You have to check this out too. I am going to start doing this next year. I LOVE it! I even teared up!! Yep, that good! Teachers are often taken for granted. Show your appreciation to the teachers that spend most of the day with your child!!

I also had several friends who had a birthday this week. So, I decided this would be the perfect time to make Bakerella's adorable cake pops! I ended up giving both of my friends the cake pops. I also sent Cameron to school with some cake pops for his teacher. It pales to the comparison of the ladies I mentioned, but hey...I tried. Everyone seemed to really enjoy it. They were harder to make than I thought...but were a lot of fun! I'm also going to be sending a candy bar bouquet to his music, art, GT teachers. I am friends with all three on facebook. I was thrilled when his music teacher did the "5 favorite Candy"...now I know exactly what to send her!!

A tin can, spray paint, ribbon, and tag...there you have a cute, frugal holder for the cake pops!

Chalkboard Inspiration

Have you seen all the chalkboard inspiration that has been floating around for a while? Well, I decided to try my hand in making a chalkboard plate. I saw this at Shaun-Na-Na and thought it was such a cute idea. Here is a plate I made for a friend's birthday.

Oops I didn't erase very good.

I loved this plate. When I flipped it over it had this perfect square. Now if she gets tired of the green, she can flip it over for a new look. How cool is that?

I mentioned there was more! That's right I am so excited to receive this AWARD from my friend Tanielle! Thanks...your awesummmm!!

I am not sure why she thought of me as a Queen of ALL Things Awe-summ??? But, I am honored. I love it...Love the bling!

Attitude of Gratitude Award

I love receiving and giving blog awards! Tanya at Miller Racing Family is a sweet, genuine friend. She always posts yummy recipes and a lot more.... so check her blog out today! Tanya you made my day! She gave me an award! I feel so honored! This is the "An Attitude of Gratitude” award for showing a grateful attitude within my posts. Since it's a gratitude award I thought I would write a few things I am thankful for today. I can have an attitude of gratitude when I am not focused on the negative.

I'm thankful for the nice weather we have had all week. 70-80 degrees...lovely!

I'm thankful for my husband who is tilling more of the garden as I type.
More seeds going in tomorrow!

I'm thankful for precious moments in the day that make all the negative rush away!

I'm thankful for a forgiving, loving, awesome God we have!

I'm thankful for all my blogging friends. Thanks for making me smile, laugh, and grow. You inspire me. Thank you!

I'm thankful for my family. I'm thankful for those who knew my dad and stepped up to leave a comment on my 'Priceless Coin' post with great memories I will cherish!

Honestly? Another Award!!

Kasey at All That is Good passed the Honest Scrap Award to me!! Thank You Kasey! You are darling! I am so thrilled and honored that you would think of me! Yes, I like to be honest...sometimes I'm known to be a little too honest.

The requirements are that I have to list 10 things about myself and then pass it on to others. So, here we go...

1. I am learning about and enjoying GREEN SMOOTHIES! (As well as the kiddos) ;D
I've had one every day for 5 days and I have more energy and have lost weight!

2. I have 857 pictures stuck on my camera. I print most off, but take so many pictures the number goes right back up. I do still have 2007 Christmas on there... good grief!

3. My goal is to be debt free within 2 years (except for mortgage) and be in our dream home within 5 years.

4. I am learning to be more frugal. Coupons, unplugging things, turning off lights, growing our own food, fruit orchard. I will be making salsa this summer too. It was so nice the other day outside I even hung the boys clothes out on the monkey bars. (first time) Oh I also get a rush when I see the price at Walgreens go from $60.00 + down to $.60 CENTS!! That happened to me the other day. You can see how on my other blog.

5. My family goes to a chiropractor every week. Even the boys. I was a non-believer turned believer. I have learned so much through Dr. Kim about being healthy. I am so grateful! It also feels great to not have neck/back pain every day!


6. I will be applying to go back to teaching this fall. I taught for six years and loved it! Honestly, I'm not sure I'm ready. I have LOVED being a stay at home mom! My youngest goes to K...hardly can stand to think about it...sniff sniff.

7. My husband is short...it took over a year for him to convince me to go out with him. The short hang up always held me back. I always had dated tall men and my Dad was 6'4". I'm glad he grew on me. Now...wouldn't trade him! Love you babe!

8. I love to bake cakes! Since I am trying to lose weight I stopped doing it as much. I want to take a cake decorating class this spring.

9. I would love to write children's books some day. I think it would be so cool to be a published author!

10. I can do something weird with my tongue.... I can fold it in half and make it stick! I was going to post a pic but I decided to spare the details! Try it!
