Simple Woman's Daybook

~*~ Rhonda's Daybook~*~

Today is... Tuesday, June 29, 2010
*Started in the morning, finished tonight.*

Outside my window...the boys are playing with cars on the front porch. Now, they are in bed sound asleep.

I am thinking...I'm so glad it rained the other day. Our yard sure did need it.

I am thankful...that my mom's health scare is going to be okay with antibiotics. Glory to God!

I am wearing...shorts and a t-shirt

I am remembering
...how much fun it is to spray paint things!

I am creating...a grocery list, a pile of plastic for the boys to find matching lids too, spray painting my picnic basket, and a clear protective coat on my table outside.

I am going...to start the Couch to 5 K program tomorrow. I'm so thrilled Michael will be joining me. The boys will be riding their bikes while we walk/jog. I really want to complete this program!

I am reading..."So Long, Insecurity: You've Been a Bad Friend to Us" by Beth Moore. I will also be following along with her blog entries that she has previously done on this book.

I am hoping/praying...I will be a teacher again soon!

I am hearing...my boys making a snow cone for themselves. After all it is an outside day/indoor play. No TV, computers, or Wii for them today. Okay, that did not last but half a day. Why, oh why do a cave sometimes? They just love Wipe Out.

On my mind...how I need to pray for my husband more. I'll be pulling out Stormie Omartian's The Power of a Praying Wife.

From the learning rooms...Caden has been talking a lot about volcanoes lately. So, we will be taking a trip to the library this week to check out some books. I have started doing pre-school twice a week with Landon, the son of some good friends. I also taught his older brother.

Pondering these words
..."Lord, I need Your holiness penetrate my life and wash away anything that is unholy in me. Take away any attitude, any hidden sin of the mind, any activity or action that I do which is not what You would have for me. I know You did not call me to uncleanness, but to holiness (1 Thessalonians 4:7). Show me the way to holiness in my own life." I read this in Stormie Omartian's book, "The Prayer That Changes Everything". This is my prayer this week.

From the kitchen...I'm so thankful to be menu planning again. I always feel better when I know what will be for dinner!

Monday: Homemade pizza
Tonight: Pot roast with gravy
Wednesday: Chicken on a stick
Thursday: BBQ Beef
Friday-Sunday-Camping

Around the house...everything looks much better after the yard sale piles are gone!

One of my favorite things
...Finding my 8 year old on his knees praying for me after hearing me cry on Father's day weekend. I'm so blessed.

A few plans for the rest of the week...
*Preschool
*Making treats to take on our camping trip like the watermelon turtle fruit bowl.
*library
*Pick blueberries
*Camping

My Word Picture...

I'm so thrilled we have peaches for the first time! We plan on planting more fruit trees this fall.

Hi Rhonda!

Love your daybook - I marvel at what a good wife and mother you are! I do hope that you are a teacher soon also, because, I know that you must be a wonderful one!

I don't think we can ever say too many prayers for our husbands, they have a heavy responsibility and need all of our support and prayers. Your son is so precious, his sincere prayer is evidence of faith, taught to him by good parents.

Have fun camping - stay safe.

Hugs,
Barb

Hi Rhonda - you cute girl!

I love your Simple Womans Daybooks! I am so glad your mom is going to be ok. That is wonderful.

Your peaches look so good. I wish we had a peach tree. We have an apple one and the apples are starting to grow. Good luck with the Couch to 5k program - that is awesome!!

Sounds like you all are doing great. I love the Stormie OMartin books. I try to get the power of the praying wife out at least once a year, it is such a great reminder.
I love the story about seeing your kiddos pray, how powerful is that.
Have a great day!

I enjoyed "cruising" through your blog! You have a beautiful family :). Good luck with the Couch to 5K program--I'm thinking of trying again (I'm a dropout).

You and I are so alike. Your days sound just like mine!

Loved your thoughts today. It is so awesome to read about your day and to think more about my day also.
I often feel I am in continuous prayer mode; so I understand the prayers for your husband. I know our husbands need our support and our prayers for them.
Have a fun and enjoy the moments with your children.
Blessings to you! LeAnn
